The General Services Administration (GSA) is the federal government’s centralized procurement branch. Its goal is to manage policies for federal procurement as well as real property and information resources management. The GSA works to establish a multitude of long-term contracts between the government and commercial firms.

For over 60 years, the GSA has provided support to government agencies by offering products, services and facilities at the best value for taxpayers and federal customers alike. In effect, businesses are granted the opportunity to do business with those agencies, contributing to the billions of dollars worth of products and services sold annually through these government-wide federal contracts. According to the GSA website, almost $66 billion in financed transactions throughout the government are a result of the GSA.

The Administrator of General Services oversees a reported annual budget of approximately $16 billion. The GSA obtains different products and services for various federal agencies who are serving the public. The GSA buys products and services from the following industries: Architecture & Engineering; Design & Construction; Facilities Maintenance & Management; Leasing; Green/Energy; Retail Services; Childcare; Realty Services; Real Estate Services; Real Property Disposal and Professional Technological Solutions; as well as many other industries.
